2003 - 2004 EMJHL Champions!

The Directors and Participating Hockey Clubs of the EMJHL celebrate the end of another successful season with the League Playoffs.

Formed in the 2000-2001 season, the EMJHL started with 6 teams and an uncertain future. Since then, the League has grown to 14 teams with participants in 4 States (Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York and Connecticut). And future growth is planned for next season as we welcome another team, this time from Maine.

With such a diverse membership, the success of the League is based on the ability of the member clubs to work together with both a dedication to fulfilling League commitments and a flexibility to work through the many conflicts that always seem to occur. It is this willingness to continue to move the League forward on the part of the participating teams that accounts for the growth of the League.

Another important component that binds the League members together is the focus on the common objective: To organize and promote the growth of AAA Midget Hockey with the focus on training and advanced competition in order to help develop talented players for the Junior and Collegiate levels. While the growth of the AAA Midget programs has stalled in some areas, the members of the EMJHL have made a commitment to providing a forum to allow players at this level to improve their skills in preparation for the advanced levels to follow - the Juniors and College Hockey. All participating members feel strongly that this development step is essential to the future success of the players.

The members Clubs are continually searching for ways to improve the League and League operations. The annual League meeting is planned for April - and this is where the plan for the next season is reviewed. The directors of each hockey club would welcome any suggestions from the players and parents, so please provide any suggestions to your team’s coach so that it can be presented at the League meeting.

And - the Directors and League Members would like to thank all of the players that choose to skate with us. To be able to showcase the skills and abilities of all of the players within the EMJHL has been very rewarding and the competitiveness and sportsmanship displayed by the players has been excellent.
